Blistex Revive and Restore~new favorite lip product~

5:48 PM

LOVE this product. I happened upon this product by accident. I left my lip balm at home in a mad dash to get to an 8:00am lab on time.  So during my break, I went to the store and thought this product seemed interesting. I did not have high hopes for it, but I was instantly impressed when I applied it. It comes with two jars that lock together but also come apart. The gray jar, "Restore" has vitamin E and instantly makes my lips feel better. The white jar, "Revive", has SPF 15, has a nice minty smell and also makes my lips feel very soft and smooth. It contains shea butter. A few days ago, my lips were rather irritated and dry, and this product did help a good deal. It didn't make the eczema go away, but it did give me a great deal of relief until my topical cream kicked in and I calmed down a little(my eczema tends to be stress induced). This product was less than $2.00 and is now one of my favorite lip products.

  1. Blistex is amazing for taking care of the pain, initial dryness, and helping you before your prescription or OTC treatment kicks in. I have eczema and atopic dermatitis, the eczema I believe caused mostly by stress, but the atopic dermatitis isn't nearly as predictable. Have had a terrible couple of weeks with the rash under my nose having deep cracks that have bled and been extremely painful. I haven't even wanted to go anywhere because of the blotches on my face.

Then I remembered Blistex. I use the medicated lip ointment. Because of it, I've been able to use the hydrocortisone ointment on my face and the betamethasone ointment on my arms and legs. It's saving my peace of mind extremely this week. I was at that place where I was getting to the point of being inconsolable. It's great to see that someone else has had similar success with Blistex. Talk about off label use of a product. It's a wonder that doctors don't know to recommend it.

    1. I'm so sorry to hear about that. But I know exactly what you are going through. I would go through the same phases(and still do at times)where I would be so scared to leave the house because of the eczema on my face. And to this day, I still hate wearing shorts because of it. I would have never thought to use Blistex on my face, but it has helped with my lips if I didn't have my medicine with me. And I am happy it has worked so well for you. I think it can be hard to pinpoint what can work for one's eczema since each case is so different. I have heard of many people that use natural remedies, but they make my eczema worse. I say find what works for you and stick with it =)If you are in need of a good OTC lotion, I would highly suggest Curel's Anti Itch Lotion; it is cheaper than CeraVe and works very well and has the National Eczema Association's seal. Another tip, try taking fish oil(if you are not already). I have noticed that my eczema is much more controlled. Thank you for sharing your story with me. It gives me some comfort to know that someone else has experienced some of the same things.
