Lorac Pro Palette~Review and Swatches~

1:59 PM

This palette is eyeshadow perfection.  I have been testing it for a few days and I cannot find one thing wrong with it.  Well worth the money.  I am inspired to try more Lorac products.

This palette comes with 16 shadows; 8 matte and 8 shimmer.  A lot of the shimmer shades actually have a metallic look to them, too.   Fortunately for me, the name describes the color in most cases.
 1.) White~matte
2.) Cream~matte, looks a bit more beige to me
3.) Taupe~matte, a bit more tan than your typical taupe
 4.) Light Pink~matte
 5.) Mauve~matte
 6.) Sable~matte
 7.) Espresso~matte
 8.) Black~matte
 9.) Nude~shimmery pinky beige
10.) Champagne~ shimmer
11.) Gold~shimmer
12.) Light Bronze~shimmer
13.) Pewter~shimmery taupe
14.) Garnet~shimmer
15.) Deep Purple~ shimmer
16.) Slate~shimmer

White, Cream, Taupe, Light Pink, Mauve, Sable, Espresso and Black

Nude, Champagne, Gold, Light Bronze, Pewter, Garnet, Deep Purple, Slate

Pigment and Texture
The pigment is wonderful.  The mattes are a little less pigmented, but still great and not chalky.  They are probably the best matte shades I have ever tried.  You need only to lightly touch the pan to get any product on your brush.  These shadows can be a bit powdery, but I have not had any problems with fall out.  They are also very smooth and buttery.  The texture is like that of theBalm.

Staying Power
When used with the Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer (deluxe sample included with the palette), they stay on all day.  I did use the palette with Too Faced Shadow Insurance, and they faded a little by the end of the day.   In botth cases, I experienced no creasing.

I love the packaging of this palette.  It is not big and bulky, but very sleek and compact.  The design is simple and the focus is on the quality of the shadows.

Price and Where to Find
For $42, you get 16 shadows and a deluxe sample of Behind The Scenes primer, which will last a good while.  You can find this at Sephora, Ulta and Lorac's site.

Overall Impression
Love it!  I would say it is the best quality palette I own, even over my beloved Urban Decay and theBalm palettes.  It is a very versatile palette and it is nice to have a plalette that has an equal number of of matte and shimmer shades.  That is a rare find.  For the quality and number of shades, it is well worth the $42.00  This is only the third Lorac product I have tried, but the brand keeps on impressing me.  I also really reccommend the primer.  I like it even better than Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

I am going to post some different looks over the next few days using this palette, so stay tuned =)

  2. Oh great review Kristen! I was so excited you would be reviewing this palette. I love Lorac's blushes and was intrigued by this palette! I may have to check into it. I love the mix of matte and shimmer. Can't wait to see the looks you do with it! I have a small sample size of the Lorac primer and I really didn't think of using it before, but as Too Faced has been my go-to for a long time now but since you recommend it, I will definitely have to pull it out and see what it can do! :)

  3. This is a really lovely palette. I am a huge fan of neutral & smokey eye looks and this palette would get so much wear. The shadows look pigmented and good quality.
    Great review :o)

  4. This palette would be perfect for that =) They are amazing shadows. And thanks :)

  5. Thanks =) It is such a wonderful palette. It is nice to have one that has an even mix of matte and shimmer, you rarely see that. I am putting a neutral, everyday look up a bit later that turned out well. Do try the Lorac Primer =) I really liked it and my eyeshadow seemed to stay on a bit better. Hope you like it.

  6. I actually did not care for matte shadows until I got this. They are amazing quality. So they turned me into a matte fan :)
