Sonia Kashuk Jewel of an Eye Palette Review and Swatches

2:11 PM

It isn't very often that I fall head over heels in love (and I don't think that's a bit excessive) with a product. But the second I saw Sonia post a pic of this, it had to be mine. Luckily, it did not disappoint. In fact, it blew my expectations out of the water.

Shades
The most gorgeous array of jewel tones. Le sigh. Anywho, on to the factual stuff. The top swatches are in natural light and the second one is with flash. The first row has three shades of purple: a lavender, amethyst and plummy shade.
The next row has three shades of green and blue. My personal favorite shades of the palette.

The third row has rich and intense shades of ruby. This will be more of a challenge for me to use, but they are stunning nonetheless.

The final row consists of easily wearable neutral shades.

Texture and Pigment
I may or may not have drooled (or teared up) when I first felt the texture. They actually feel like velvet. Yes, velvet. They are smooth but not too smooth. They are very easy to blend and the shades are very pigmented. You don't need a lot of shadow on your brush to get full color.

Staying Power and Packaging
The staying power is most impressive. I can wear it all day at work and it will not budge. Keep in mind I work in a restaurant, so I get sweaty and move around a lot. No creasing or fading here. The packaging is very slim and sleek, which I love. It keeps the focus on the eyeshadows and their quality.

Price and Overall Impression
This palette is $16.99 and is available at Target. And you MUST get it! It has become my favorite palette (along with Sonia's Eye on Neutral palette, but that's another post) and I have a lot of palettes.
