NYX Pure Decadence Butter Lip Gloss Set

5:24 PM

After my last post, it is time to get back to budget friendly reality.  But that doesn't mean lackluster. Because that, my friends, is no way to live.

Before continuing with this review, I have a little confession to make. I greatly dislike lip glosses. Or at least the majority of them.  They can be such sticky, goopy messes and not to mention the whole ordeal where your hair gets stick to your lips thanks to a gust of a wind.  Not a good look, especially if you have a strand of red or pink running down your face.  And yes, this has happened to me.

This is my first time trying the NYX Butter Glosses, and I have to admit, I do like them a lot.  With the True Decadence set, you get three glosses for $9.99.  This would make an awesome gift for someone and the shades are gorgeous. They are perfect choices for fall.

Tiramisu is a beautiful nude.  Normally, I cannot pull of nude glosses or lipsticks because they make me look dead.  Not the case here.  It has just enough color to keep me from looking washed out, but also pairs well with a dramatic eye.

Devil's Food Cake is a medium, vampy plum.  I LOVE wearing a vampy lip this time of year, or really anytime of year.  There is just something mysterious and intriguing about it.  It looks somewhat  terrifying in the tube, but it applies more on the sheer side.  You still get nice color, though.  Of the three shades, I noticed that this one applied less evenly. It is not an issue, though.

Red Velvet is a true candy apple red that is perfect for Christmas.  Like the other two, it has great pigment and is opaque.  A truly gorgeous shade.

I really like the formula of these glosses.  They are shiny and glossy without the disgusting sticky feeling.  They pack a punch in the pigment department and provide great color.  I'd say that they are one of the more pigmented glosses that I've tried. My lips do not feel the least bit dry and feel comfortable throughout the wear time.  Speaking of wear time, I can get about 2-3 hours out of these.  Not too shabby for a gloss.  All in all, this is a great set and it is worth picking up.  There is also another variation of this set with brighter, more vibrant shades

You should see these popping up at Target.

Hope you are having a great weekend!
