CVS Haul (Physicians Formula, Wet n Wild, Not Your Mother's) With First Impressions and Swatches

11:22 AM

I have been anxiously waiting for the new Physicians Formula products to hit shelves at my local stores for what feels like weeks. The stores in my area always seem to be the last to get new stuff. But the CVS near the gym I go to FINALLY got some of the stuff in stock. They didn't have everything I was looking for, so I will probably end up going to another store.

The main thing on my wish list was the new Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow and Liner Palette in Glam Nude. I saw Tati from Glam Life Guru mention these in a video and I loved how shimmery they looked. I swatched them, and I hope they look better over primer. I have never tried their eyeshadows, so I am curious to see how they wear and apply. Well, I tried them today and I was less than impressed. They lacked pigment and they faded into nothing. They also creased. Maybe it was just the primer I used and the fact that I didn't have a lot of time to get ready, but I wasn't happy.

The Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Kohl Kajal + Liquid Liner Trio is proving to be just as disappointing as the eyeshadow. But I will get into that once I try them out some more. Each eyeliner is dual ended with a kohl pencil on one end and a glittery liner on the other. You get black, bronze, and gold. Sadly, the gold kohl liner has already broke. Yay.

I like their new Super BB #InstaReady Filter Trio BB Powder so far. The list of benefits is insane! It perfects, sculpts, defines, highlights, smoothes, protects, minimizes pores, and more. While I don't think is that special, it did make my skin look nice. The first section is the Nude Filter, the middle strip is the highlighter, and the final part adds a touch of bronze. This isn't very pigmented and the healthy glow isn't as "glowy" as I would like.

A lot of these products (and many more) are not available at Ulta. And Physicians Formula is BOGO 50% off.

I saw a display for some Wet n Wild limited edition nail polish called "We're The Wildcats." Apparently this was their holiday collection, or at least that is the shade names tell me. I picked up 'Where My Ho Ho Hos At?' and 'Naughty and Iced.'

I was in desperate need of some shampoo and conditioner. I don't have a favorite one, so I opted to try something new. Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner seemed like a potentially good match for my hair. Plus I like the packaging. It makes me want to go to the beach.

I will try these out some more and report back to you.
