Swatches and First Impressions of the Essie Resort Collection for 201612:53 PM
I don't own a ton of Essie nail polish, but by the time I finished swatching these, I remembered why. I decided I needed to expand my collection, starting with the new Resort Collection, which surprisingly consists of shades I don't have in my polish collection. Or at least I am pretty sure I don't have anything like them.
You know how most brands will create a boxed set with mini versions of a collection? I got one of those for this collection, which I found at Ulta. There are four shades in this collection, and each one is great for spring. The Resort Collection is inspired by the rich culture of India.
Taj-Ma- Haul is described as a spicy marigold apricot. I am not a fan of orangey colors, but I am liking this peachy shade a lot. This color was nearly opaque in one coat, but it didn't apply as evenly as I would like.
Going Guru is a light mint green. It does require two coats for full opacity, and like Taj-Ma-Haul, it was a little un-even. Going Guru was also a bit streaky.
Delhi Dance is a gorgeous rosy pink. It is opaque in one coat and it applies evenly. It is the best of the collection in terms of application.
Nama-Stay The Night is described as a Goa blue and it is my favorite color of the four. Sadly, it is also the most streaky.

Quality wise, they are not that remarkable. With two or three careful coats, Taj-Ma-Haul, Going Guru, and Delhi Dance look nice. But they do require some care and a little patience. Nama-Stay The Night still has a streaky appearance, though. I am just not an Essie kind of girl. I find that the formula requires too much work and they don't look as a good as some other brands. However, I like these kinds of sets because you get to try the whole collection, and how many times do you use an entire bottle of polish?
This set is available at Ulta and it is $17. I would say to pass on these and save your money for the polish I am going to talk about next. =)
