Review and Swatches of Palladio's Crushed Metallic Eyeshadows

6:28 PM

I have been mentioning these shadows off and on for a few weeks, and for good reason. They are awesome. I have five of them now, but one has decided to run away. I have looked and looked for it, but I can't find it. When I do come across it, I will update this post and let you guys know. I will still include the shade and a description for you just for reference.

Palladio Beauty Crushed Metallic Eyeshadow

Palladio's Crushed Metallic Eyeshadows are infused with vitamins and botanical ingredients, including aloe, chamomile, gingko biloba, safflower, camellia, and ginseng.

Shades:

  • Light Year is a light golden peach. it looks beautiful on the lid as a light wash of shimmer and shine. It looks nice alone or with a darker color in the crease.

  • Supernova is a lovely cranberry. As you blend it out, it becomes more of a red brown.

  • Stellar is a beautiful taupe-y bronze. It is by far my favorite one so far. At first glance, it reminds me of Kat Von D's Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Synergy. However Stellar is lighter and actually has more of a sheen. I will include a comparison swatch so you can see the difference.

  • Eclipse is a golden copper and you know I always love shades like this. It will be a great color for the summer and it will enhance your eyes nicely.

  • Parallax is a dark plummy brown. When you look at Palladio's site, or even on Ulta, it just looks like a dark brown. But in person it has a purple tone to it, and it also has purple sparkles in it.
Palladio describes them as a pressed pigment, so the color payoff is fantastic. I can't see where a primer even enhances the pigment because it is already great. Of course a primer will make them apply a little more evenly and make them last a little longer. As a result, you don't need to use  a lot of product. Texture wise, they kind of remind me of ColourPop's shadows. They have a very creamy feel and almost feel a little bit bouncy.  They obviously have a highly metallic, shiny finish. They are not for anyone with any kind of adversity to shimmer and shine. You can see from my swatches that they actually have a more metallic finish than Kat Von D's Metal Crush Eyeshadows. I haven't experienced any creasing or fading from them. They apply well and blend very easily. I have experienced a teensy bit of fallout, but it wipes right off with no issues.

There are 11 shades in the range, and eventually I want to get all of them. They are $5.99 and you can find them at Ulta, Sally Beauty, and of course the Palladio site. If you like shadows with a metallic or foiled finish, give these a try. They have certainly surprised me.

I will be back tomorrow (hopefully) with a look at the new NYX Ultimate Shadow Palettes.

See you soon!
