Palladio Beauty's Velvet Matte Cream Lip Color in Jacquard9:19 AM
I have said before that one of my goals is try as many liquid lip colors as possible. I have done that and now I am working on reviewing them for you. I spotted these by Palladio on a trip to Ulta a few months ago. I really love them, especially this particular shade.
Jacquard looks like it would be a pinky coral, but it is actually more of a red orange once applied. Either way, it is stunning spring and summer color.
The texture of this lip cream isn't quite like anything I have ever tried. It doesn't have the feel of a typical liquid lipstick like Anastasia Beverly Hills or ColourPop. It has more of a mousse like texture, but not quite like Stila's liquid lipstick. It truly is a cream lip color just in liquid form. It doesn't completely dry down, so it doesn't suck every last bit of moisture out of your lips. In fact, it is probably one of the most comfortable and enjoyable formulas I have ever used. I am sure part of that is thanks to the aloe in it. It doesn't accentuate any dry spots and even by the end of the day, it still feels good. Because it doesn't dry down 100%, it is not transfer proof. However, it stays on extremely well. I don't have to reapply it at all. The only issue I have noticed is some feathering. Which is odd because it has only happened to me once. I don't know if It has something to do with drinking out of a straw not long after application or what. But it was an isolated issue and it wasn't too noticeable in person. Either way, this isn't a lipstick you want to wear if you are going out for burgers or tacos.
This was after 4 or five hours and a venti caramel macchiato. Like I said, I have worn this many other times and did not have this issue. However, it would probably be a good idea to use a little clear lipliner.
The pigmentation is insanely good. It is fully opaque in one swipe, too. The packaging is cute. It reminds me of the Maybelline Color Elixir Glosses because it looks like a lipstick and you can see the color. It does have a doe foot applicator, which is always a fantastic touch.
|This is after trying to wash it off. It is very resilient.|
The price is right with these. They are $7 and come in a variety of colors. I actually have a couple more shades to try out and review for you. Palladio can be found at Ulta and Sally Beauty. Or you can order them directly from Palladio's site.
