FOTD: Summer's Last Hurrah11:06 AM
Fall is right around the corner and I could not be more excited. I am over 90 degree temps and the heat index being 100 or higher. In fact, some people have posted seeing an orange leaf or two already. Yay!
Even though I am obsessed with all things fall, I figured I would do one last bright, summery look. I actually did this look a few days ago and it was quite popular. I figured I would do a blog post on it and re-do because everyone liked it, myself included. I also used some of the products Influenster sent to me in The Estee Edit Vox Box.
Products and Steps:
1.) To start everything off, I primed my eyes using the NYX Eyeshadow Base in white.
2.) While that sat, I used The Estee Edit's Radiance Activator as my moisturizer/primer.
3.) I used the Morphe 35O palette for my eyeshadow. I used a light shimmery gold on the lid and a combination of two matte shades to create a warm crease. I'll insert a picture of the palette with numbers on the shades I used. I also made sure to apply these with a lighter hand because I wanted to keep the focus on my eyeliner.
4.) After applying the eyeshadow, I went applied my foundation. I used the Luminess Air Air Supremacy Foundation in shade 1. I prefer to apply this to a foundation brush and then buff it into my skin.
5.) Using Kat Von D's Lock It Concealer Creme in the shade Light 5 Neutral, I highlighted my under eye area and added some extra coverage to my chin and forehead.
6.) This is a very helpful step for applying eyeliner. I saw Jaclyn Hill do it in one of her recent videos and I tried out for myself. It works very well not only for setting concealer, but for making your liner more sharp and even. I used my damp makeup sponge by Ulta (it comes in a two back for $10) and applied Kat Von D's Lock It Setting Powder under my eyes. I extended it past my lower lash line, going toward the end of my brow to create a sharp edge. I prefer to do one eye at a time because I don't like leaving the powder on for too long.
7.) After that, I took The Estee Edit's Inside Track Kajal in Twisted Teal and Tarnished Gold. I used Twisted Teal along the outer portion of the lower lash line and formed a wing using the "stencil" I made from the powder. I used Tarnished Gold on the inner half and smoked both shades out using a pencil brush. I used a fluffy powder brush to sweep all of the powder away.
8.) For mascara, I used two coats of Max Factor's Masterpiece Max mascara.
9.) To add just a little bit of warmth and glow, I used The Balm's Bahama Mama and a combination of Crushed Pearl and Starburst.
10.) On my lips I used Jordana's new Color Lights Lip Lights Gloss in the shade Hot Pink Blaze. Word of caution: this may look bright in pictures, but it is NEON in person. It is so bright that I get weird looks from people. Lol.
I think this is going to be my last summer inspired look. I am too anxious for the darker, edgier looks of fall. Even though it is going to hot for awhile longer here in GA (yuck), I can't contain myself anymore.
I have a lot of different posts planned out and I will work on getting some of them up ASAP. I hope you enjoy what is left of your weekend!
