Guerlain Happy Glow Kiss Kiss Lipsticks for Spring 20178:15 AM
Guerlain recently launched four new products for their spring collection: two Kiss Kiss Lipsticks, special edition Meteorites, and Meteorites Happy Glow Blush. This collection just screams spring and newly bloomed flowers. I was good and restrained myself to just getting the lipsticks. I actually got these for my mom because she loves Guerlain's lipstick and she is a pink fiend. She is also very picky about lipsticks, so if she says it is good, you can take that to the bank. She did let me try these out for a day so I could get swatches and a review for you guys.
The first shade is Pearly Pink, which is the more timid shade of the two. It is more sheer and strikes me as more of an everyday color. It is a cool toned rosy pink. I had to apply 3 or 4 layers to get the color payoff I desired.
Blossom Pink has more pop and color to it. It really brightens up the skin. Blossom Pink is a more vivid warm rosy pink with a hint of coral. This one has more pigment, so I only need to apply one or two layers for it to be opaque.
This was my first time really testing out this formula. It is a very creamy, hydrating lipsticks so I knew right away it wasn't going to be long lasting. I am okay with that as long as my lips are well hydrated. These lipsticks apply like butter. They do not tug at all and they seem to glide right over any fine lines without enhancing them the least bit. That is kind of the gist of this lipstick, though. The Kiss Kiss line plumps, hydrates, and smooths. I haven't noticed my lips being much fuller, but there is a slight difference. These lipsticks have hyaluronic spheres and commiphora oil.
The packaging is stunning! They are an opalescent pale pink that you can't fully appreciate until you see them in person. I tried to get an accurate picture, but it still falls a little short.
These are beautiful lipsticks and I think anyone with drier lips will appreciate the formula. The colors are perfect for spring. Pearly Pink is great for an everyday light pink and Blossom Glow gives more color and brightens up the complexion. If you are already a Guerlain fan and love pink lipsticks, these are a must. They are $37. I bought mine from Saks Fifth Avenue, but I think they are currently sold out everywhere because I can't find them on any department store site. If you are interested, keep an eye out on Nordstrom, Saks, and Bloomingdales.
I also used Photoshop to edit my pictures instead of PicMonkey. Boy, was that a pain to figure out. I still have a lot to learn, but I wanted to see what Photoshop was about. I am not happy with how a few pictures turned out, so back to adjusting my camera settings.
